CLAMJAMFRIE consist of Mark on fiddle, Karen on accordion,
Allan on mandolin, Jane on conga's, snare and percussion and Joe on
guitar and vocals.
The picture on this page, is the band playing in a local pub, the
famous/infamous, "Brown Bull", in Lochwinnoch.
Don't
worry if your a novice to ceilidh dancing, it's all part of the fun
of an evening learning the dances!
Karen "calls" the ceilidh dances,
whilst Jane and Allan can jump onto the floor to demonstrate them.
We've played at a wedding with 200 guests, not one of which had ever
been to a ceilidh before! We've also played for Glasgow City Council,
at an event for asylum seekers from 20 different countries. What a
mix! Scottish ceilidh and Kurdish folk dancing!
Over
the years, we've played ceilidhs, pubs and festivals throughout Scotland
including the Isles of Tiree and Easdale in the west and Scotland's
largest stately home, Hopetoun House, South Queensferry in the east.
We've played at various festivals including The Highland Winter Festival,
The Lomond Folk Festival and Falkland Samba Fever. We've taken part
in the finals of the National Accordion Ceilidh Band Competition and
appeared at the Celtic Connections Open Stage.
We play regularly in the Renfrewshire area, including the County Gala
"Sma'Shot" Day in Paisley Town Hall, Hogmanay, Christmas, Burns and
St.Andrews night events.
So
whatever the occasion, CLAMJAMFRIE will entertain with a style of
ceilidh to suit you.
